Last night, we embarked on a whimsical crafting journey in the world of card making. Armed with three enchanting card stocks—Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky, and Bubble Bath—we set out to create something truly magical. The destination? The land of floating circles and cardstock magic!
Remember, if you create this week’s card, post it in Gal Friday Stamping’s Mystery card group to be entered into a random drawing!

Orchid Oasis: A Splash of Tranquility
Our adventure began with Orchid Oasis card stock on a card base of Basic White. A serene shade that instantly transported us to a tranquil garden. With its soft hues reminiscent of blooming orchids, it served as the perfect backdrop for our creative masterpiece.
Starry Sky: Adding a Dash of Nighttime Wonder
Next came Starry Sky card stock, a deep, rich blue that looked like a slice of the night sky. We used it to create a stunning contrast against the soothing Orchid Oasis, setting the stage for our floating circle to shine like a star in the heavens.
Bubble Bath: A Touch of Playfulness
Bubble Bath card stock was the final element in our crafting symphony. Its whimsical nature added a touch of playfulness to our creation, making it clear that crafting is as much about joy as it is about art.
The Floating Circle: A Magical Technique

Now, let’s talk about the star of our Mystery Card Monday— the floating circle technique! This captivating technique creates an illusion of a circle effortlessly hovering above the card’s surface. The secret? A touch of acetate, a sprinkle of imagination, and a dash of adhesive.
We carefully cut 1/2″ slices from a piece of 2 5/8 x 2 5/8″ designer series paper. Once that was finished we adhered it to a transparent acetate sheet, leaving about 1/8″ to 1/4″ space between each slice. Once the dsp was dry, we used a Layering Circle die to cut the layered piece. Then, we suspended it using dimensionals to the front of our card, giving the illusion that our circle was floating. It was like capturing a moment of magic on paper!
Crafting is Magic
In just a few simple steps, we transformed our materials into a work of art. That’s the magic of crafting—it takes ordinary materials and turns them into something extraordinary. Our Mystery Card Monday adventure with Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky, and Bubble Bath card stock was a testament to the endless possibilities of creativity.
So, if you’re ever in need of a little magic in your life, grab some card stock, let your imagination soar, and create something beautiful. After all, as we learned on Mystery Card Monday, crafting is not just a hobby; it’s pure enchantment!
Stay tuned for more crafting adventures, and remember, the world is your crafting canvas!
