We made it to another marvelous Monday! I sure hope everyone enjoyed the weekend as much as I did. I seem to get a lot done over the weekend, and it sure does help to have a planner to keep my schedule straight. Let’s jump into Paper Pumpkin kit week.
To start the week I have decided to touch on kits that Stampin’ Up! has. Today’s project for the start of Paper Pumpkin kit week is the February kit. I am sure many of you are aware that Stampin’ Up! has a monthly subscription craft box that is called Paper Pumpkin. This craft kit comes every month in a bright orange box. Each kit contains a stamp spot, stamps and everything you need to create the projects in the kit. This week I am going to take both the February and March kits and create alternate projects. Today I am starting with the February kit . If you are interested in learning more, you can find information here. If you have already made up your mind, you can Subscribe Here.
Let’s take a look at this months kit. It includes everything you need to create nine cards three designs just like the ones below.

I love the Paper Pumpkin kits every month but I also like creating alternate projects with the kits. When creating alternates, I try to use the elements in the kit only using a minimal amount of other products. That is exactly what I did this month.
So What’s Different?
For my first alternate this week, I recreated the card on the right. The card base included in the monthly kit is a Just Jade striped base. I ended up cutting the base into 2 pieces, one layer measuring 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 for the inside of the card. The other layer I cut measuring 5 1/4 x 4 for the front of the card. The base of the card uses Just Jade card stock, with a second layer of the Just Jade and the striped 5 1/4 x 4 striped layer. The rest of the front is the same as pictured in the kit. But by adding the Just Jade card stock it changes the look of the card.

Wanting to do another project. I took another striped card base that was included in the kit and created a box with it. Again, adding a few extra features to make it my own.

This is a pizza type box using the Just Jade card base. I added an additional layer of the Just Jade, stamped and embossed the Basic White layer and popped it up on the top of the box. See the set below.

Each month when you receive your kit, think outside of the box when looking at the directions and see the change.
