Thank you for joining me last night for some last-minute Christmas cards. With not enough hours in the day, there is a point where we have to be able to create cards last minute. I ran into that trouble this week. Let’s take a look at what I created.

Each of these last minute Christmas cards use pretty much the same size layers. Here is a quick explanation of the layers I used. Using the Leaves of Holly stamp set and coordinating dies, I stamped a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 piece of basic white card stock to begin. Look at how simple and pretty these cards came out. Once you have stamped the leaves and berries using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Soft Succulent, Real Red and Merry Merlot you have to cut the card stock. Cut holding the 8 1/2″ side to the top of your cutter and cut at 3 5/8. Putting that piece aside, cut the remaining piece at 4 7/8. Now you have 2 pieces measuring 3 5/8 x 11 and 4 7/8 x 11.
Cut the 11 x 3 5/8 section into two pieces measuring 3 5/8 x 4 7/8. Cut the 4 7/8 x 11′-inch piece into three 3 5/8 x 4 7/8″ pieces. For a better explanation see my You-Tube video from last night.
Real red cards
Cut two bases in Real Red 11 x 4 1/4. Score this base at 5 1/2. Also cut an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 card base, score this base at 4 1/4. Each card has a 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 layer of real red. One card has a gold foil layer measuring 5 1/4 x 4 with the stamped basic white layer adhered. The second card has an additional 5 1/4 x 4 real red layer with the stamped layer adhered and the third card has a 5 1/4 x 4″ basic white layer with the stamped layer attached to a 5 x 3 3/4″ real red layer that is popped up.
evening evergreen cards
Two card bases measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. Both cards have a 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 evening evergreen layer adhered. The card that is wrapped in ribbon has a layer of evening evergreen measuring 5 x 3 3/4″ for the stamped layer. The sentiment is stamped on the label that was included with the dies. The second card has the image adhered to a silver foil layer. I die cut the frame out of the center of that silver layer before adhering to the front of the card. For the sentiment on the silver frame, I added a 2 3/8 x 1 3/8″ layer of Evening Evergreen topped with a 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 of basic white that has the stamped sentiment.
If you just want basic cards, card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. Add a layer measuring 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 topped with a layer measuring 5 1/4 x 4. Before adding your stamped layer, back it with a 5 x 3 3/4 layer and stamp the sentiment directly on the front of the card.
