For years, I listened to non-traditional Christmas carols and used non-traditional Christmas cards. I have to say I was very excited to see the Storybook Gnome Suite in the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Mini Catalog. This stamp set is perfect for non-traditional cards.
Welcome to my Thursday Night Live instructional card making video. This week I decided to play with gnomes. During the video I explained exactly how to color those sweet gnomes and created projects that are just out of the Christmas color range. If you missed the live presentation last night, you can see the replay here.

How cute is this gnome? The gnome is standing in front of the mushroom house, cut from the designer series paper using the coordinating die. I blended the sky in Balmy Blue and a blending brush making sure to mask a circle for the moon.

I didn’t forget the inside and added another mushroom house but colored and stamped this with the stamp.

These gnomes want to share some of the photos they have taken as I created these non-traditional Christmas cards. The photos are cut using the retired Layering Squares and the dsp. The film strip was created using the Blossoming Happiness dies. I colored the gnomes with various Stampin’ blends and even gave the one gnome a plaid shirt with Stampin’ Write markers.

The outside of the card is detailed, so the inside was left plain and simple.

I love these gnomes so much, that I decided to create a post-it note holder to adorn my desk.
