Last night, we created two cards with the hints for the mystery card video. If you missed the first clue you will find it below with the rest of the instructions so you too can create this card. The cards created last night I am calling Quilt Mystery Cards.
If you missed the video last night, you can catch the replay below. But mark your calendars because unless there is a family emergency, I go live each Monday at 7 PM (est) on my YouTube Channel.
gather your supplies
Card can be portrait or landscape.
Card stock (your favorite color) 8 ½ x 11
Coordinating Card stock (2) 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
DSP (2) 5 ¼ x 4 (try to use a pattern that is not directional)
Card stock (2) 2 x 2 for a sentiment mat
Basic White (2) 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 for sentiment
Basic White (2) 5 ¼ x 4 for the inside
Card stock (2) 5 ¼ x ½
DSP (2) 5 ¼ x 3/8
Trimmer, sentiment stamp, image if you would like to add. Adhesive and coordinating ink.
Once your supplies are gathered, you need to prepare the pieces to create the 2 cards.
- cut the 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock in half so you have (2) 8 1/2 x 5 1/2″ pieces. Score each of them at 4 1/4
- Cut the dsp pieces in half at 2″ on the 4″ side and 2 5/8″ on the 5 1/4″ side. You now should have small rectangles that measure 2 5/8 x 2
- Cut those rectangle in half from top right corner to bottom left hand corner. Your pieces are now triangles.
- Adhere those triangles to the front of the card. You are going to use 2 different colors and you and going to lay the triangles down with space between them. See the photo above or follow the video for assembly.
- Adhere the completed quilt layer to the front of the card.
- Stamp sentiment on smaller piece and back with coordinating card stock.
- Add the strips of card stock 5 1/4 x 1/2″ and the dsp 5 1/4 x 3/8 on the inside Basic White or Very Vanilla layer.
- Adhere the completed layer to the inside of the card.
mystery solved
These Quilt Mystery cards are a great way to get rid of all those designer series paper scraps. You can use any colors and designs you like. Post those finished cards in Gal Fridays Mystery Card Monday group to be entered to win!

Both cards have the same inside, except one inside layer is portrait and the other landscape. I also used different designs so you can see that you can use any colors and design of paper to create these cards. Looking forward to seeing what you create.

You can add any die cut, punch or cut layer to the front. I didn’t want to cover to much of the quilt look so I used the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch and the die cut from Irresistible Blooms.

The second card is bolder and the sentiment punch’s are a bit smaller to show more of the front of the card. I think these cards make a statement and anyone would love to receive one of them.
Hope to see you next week during my Mystery Card Monday Video. Remember, 7 PM (est) on my YouTube Channel.
Thank you so much for choosing me as your Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
The cards are so awesome. I love both of them.
Thank you so very much!
