Hello, crafty friends! If you joined me last night for our Thursday Live Class, you were in for a treat as we dove into the world of shimmer and shine with the Light the Sky bundle. With New Year’s Eve on the horizon, we crafted two dazzling cards that are sure to add a touch of elegance to your celebrations. In this post, I’ll share the details of the creative process and the stunning results. Let’s begin lighting up the New Year together!
The Light the Sky Bundle Extravaganza
- Light the Sky Bundle: A versatile set perfect for creating celebratory projects.
- Stargazing Designer Series Paper: A celestial backdrop for our New Year’s-themed cards.
- Night of Navy Card Base: Setting the stage for a midnight sky.
- Gold and White Embossing Powder: Adding a touch of luxury and dimension.
- Distressed Gold Specialty Paper: Creating texture and visual interest.
Card 1: Midnight Elegance
Step 1: Setting the Stage
We started with a Night of Navy card base, evoking the magic of a starry New Year’s Eve sky. The Stargazing designer series paper provided a celestial background, setting the stage for our shimmering creation.
Step 2: Light the Sky
Using the Light the Sky bundle, we embossed the celestial elements with gold embossing powder. The contrast created a striking effect, reminiscent of fireworks lighting up the night.
Step 3: Distressed Gold Accents
To add a touch of texture, we incorporated distressed gold specialty paper. This paper not only complements the theme but also brings an extra layer of elegance to our New Year’s card.
Card 2: Starry Countdown
Step 1: Sparkling Foundation
Once again, we started with the Night of Navy card base and layered it with the enchanting Stargazing designer series paper. This served as a foundation for our second masterpiece.
Step 2: Illuminating Details
With the Light the Sky bundle, we embossed intricate designs using gold and white embossing powders. The detailed patterns echoed the excitement of counting down the seconds to midnight.
Step 3: A Night to Remember
As a finishing touch, we added trees and snowbanks from the Horse & Sleigh die in Night of Navy. I wanted the look of peering through the trees at the magnificent spectacle in the sky. It also accentuates the beauty of our New Year’s creation. The result? A card that promises to make the night memorable.
I hope you enjoyed the creative journey we embarked on during last night’s Lighting Up the New Year Thursday Live Class. The Light the Sky bundle, paired with the Stargazing designer series paper and distressed gold specialty paper, allowed us to craft two cards that capture the essence of New Year’s Eve.
